Today is day one of writing my first novel, Dark Lament. This novel will most likely be categorized as fantasy, but what it really is at its center is a story of pain, loss, suffering, love, and, more importantly, redemption.
There will be heroes and villains, good vs. evil, but the lines between them will be skewed by circumstance and judgement. After all, even the best of us have a secret dark side lurking just under the surface.
The first character I will introduce is Nardus. Circumstance has dragged him into a deep abyss of loss and depression, but a spark of hope has been lit and drives him like a man possessed. Is he good or is he evil? You’ll have to make that determination on your own as his story unfolds.
